Geneva Chamber announces 2024 member awards

Local businesses recognized for their impactful contributions of time, effort and resources

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce recognized the following members who were awarded the following awards during their Annual Dinner on Thursday, November 7.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year was awarded to State Street Jewelers.

The Member of the Year Award is presented to a person or persons who have enhanced the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva through their continuing contributions of time and resources during a given year.

State Street Jewelers has been a member of the Geneva Chamber since 1992 and has been involved and generous ever since. The member’s motto is giving back. Their staff has supported and improved the community and work through a variety of programs.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce New Member of the Year was awarded to That's a Party Photobooth.

The New Member of the Year Award is presented to a person who since joining the Chamber in the last year has enhanced the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Geneva through his or her continuing contributions of time and resources.

That’s a Party Photobooth joined the Geneva Chamber in January and started coming to events right away, excited to get the word out about their new business. She participated in the New Member Reception, the Wedding Walk, and the Festival of the Vine- designing a booth to take photos with the public with wine inspired backgrounds.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Chamber Champion for 2024 was Penrose Brewing Company.

This award is being given to a chamber member who has made an impact in the Geneva community and supported the Chamber above and beyond throughout the year.

Penrose has been a big supporter of the Chamber’s festivals and always happy to participate. They are great collaborators and partners.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Community Spirit Award is presented to McNally’s Heating and Cooling.

The Community Spirit Award demonstrates a significant range of engagement activities within the community. McNally’s makes a big difference in the lives of Fox Valley residents by supporting the communities and are very supportive of Geneva Chamber events.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Community Development Award is presented to 123 on Third and Mandrake.

The Community Development Award goes to a business that has a passion for high-quality development and a commitment to enhancing the business community around them. Both businesses created such beautiful spaces in our community this year.

123 on Third opened over a year ago. With a vision in mind, she used her impeccable taste to turn this space into a mosaic of her interests, outlooks and inspirations from all over the world.

When Mandrake took over their space it needed some remodeling, and their dream was to make it their own. With the focus being on creating a culinary adventure, they created a chic and one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year recipient for 2024 is Joseph Rodriguez of Wealthwave.

The Ambassador of the Year Award is presented to a person or persons who supports the Chamber throughout the year.

Ambassadors welcome new Chamber members to the Chamber, along with representing the Chamber at events like Ribbon Cuttings. Outside of the staff and board, they are the face of the Chamber.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year is awarded to Larry Furnish.

The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a person who answered the volunteer call.

Larry has gone above and beyond to volunteer his time. He has recruited many others to help with festivals, even going so far as to donate their earnings to the Becky Furnish Foundation, which he started on behalf of his wife who was a beloved teacher in Geneva. Their foundation provides a scholarship to a Geneva High School senior, supports teachers and students by delivering supplies, warm coats and teaching aides.

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce President’s Award is awarded to members who have gone above and beyond in contributions to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. This year’s recipients are The City of Geneva, Fagans Inc., Northwestern Medicine, and Windy City Amusements, Inc.

The Chamber also recognized the following businesses in a new award entitled “Pillars of Partnership”. This award is given to businesses that have been major contributors to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and our events. They are, Flood’s Royal Flush, Gerald Subaru, Hogan Design & Construction, Little Red Barn Door and Little Barn Baby, McNally’s Heating & Cooling, Northwestern Medicine, Penrose Brewing Company, State Street Jewelers, and Windy City Amusements.
