Women's History Month: Events and women's organizations in the Tri-Cities
From history to activism, financial empowerment to fitness and networking, this month is packed with opportunities to celebrate and support women in Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles.

March is Women’s History Month, and Saturday (3/8) is International Women’s Day.
For those looking to mark the occasion(s), the Tri-Cities has plenty to offer.
Whether that’s diving into history, supporting local organizations or simply gathering with like-minded women, here’s a quick sampling of opportunities in the area:
Events
International Women’s Day March: A march is planned for those looking to unite, resist and advocate for women’s rights. (Saturday, March 8 at Island Park in Geneva)
Women’s Day Music: Riverlands Brewing is featuring Chryyys in a special International Women’s Day live music event. (Saturday, March 8 at Riverlands Brewing in St. Charles)
Women’s Day Ride: Grab your bike and join a friendly group ride in honor of International Women’s Day, courtesy of the Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club. (Saturday, March 8 at the Batavia Riverwalk)
A Brief History of the Girls’ School: Attend a fascinating event that will dive into a lesser-known part of local history. (Tuesday, March 11 at the Geneva History Museum)
Sex Ed for Adults: A professional Sexual Health Educator will share useful tips and insights (Thursday, March 13 in St. Charles)
The Revolutionists: See a play celebrating bold women from history who changed the world. (March 16 at Playhouse 38 in Geneva)
Women & Money: Take advantage of a workshop on financial literacy for women, covering everything from investing to retirement. (March 19 at the St. Charles Public Library)
Release & Receive: Join like-minded folks at designed to help women let go of stress through guided self-reflection. (Sunday, March 9 at Zen Loft Collective in Batavia)
Women-centric organizations
Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia: A nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through service, scholarships, and advocacy against issues like domestic violence and human trafficking.
Batavia Women’s Club: This diverse club has been promoting the philanthropic interests of the community since 1892.
Geneva Women’s Club: Local group that hosts fundraising and volunteer events to support local women’s causes and scholarships.
St. Charles Women’s Club: Active in the community for over a century, this group provides scholarships, support to women and families in need, and a friendly group where local women can connect.
League of Women Voters of Central Kane County: A nonpartisan organization committed to voter education, civic engagement and policy advocacy.
AAUW Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles: Focused on education and equity, this branch of the AAUW supports scholarships, research, and advocacy initiatives for women and girls.
Femaffinity: A local group dedicated to gathering women to heal, empower, and celebrate.
Boss Moms Networking: A Fox Valley networking group and supportive community of local mothers who own or manage businesses.
Carrie Koziol: A local expert on women’s health, wellness and fitness, Carrie offers guidance on everything from postpartum recovery to core strength.
Modern Domestic Woman (MDW): A community-driven organization providing workshops and resources on self-improvement, career growth and much more.
