Incumbents and new candidates have started filing for the upcoming April election. According to The Daily Herald, here’s a rundown of who has filed:
Batavia
Mayor: Incumbent Jeff Schielke indicated that he will seek reelection. Thomas Connelly filed for mayor as well.
Alderman: Leah Leman (Ward 2), Kevin Malone (Ward 3), Doug Eldrenkamp (Ward 4), Jim Fahrenbach (Ward 5).
Geneva
Mayor: Incumbent Kevin Burns will seek reelection. Karsten Pawlik will run against Burns.
Alderman: William Malecki (Ward 1), Richard Marks (Ward 2), Amy Ward (Ward 4).
St. Charles
Mayor: Former Kane County judge Clint Hull is challenging Mayor Lora Vitek.
Alderman: Ron Silkaitis (Ward 1), Ryan Bongard (Ward 2), Vicki Spellman (Ward 3), Robert Gehm (Ward 3), Bryan Wirball (Ward 4), Steve Weber (Ward 5).
Elburn
Village President: Incumbent Jeffrey Walter is seeking a third term.
North Aurora
Village President: Incumbent Mark Gaffino filed for reelection.
Trustees: Michael Lowery, Todd Niedzwiedz and Carolyn Bird Salazar.
Village Clerk: Holly O’Brien.
