Kane County State’s attorney: The Daily Herald endorsed Democratic incumbent Jamie Mosser. Here’s her Patch candidate profile as well as that of her Republican challenger, Andrew Sosnowski.
Kane County coroner: Republican Rob Russell, who has served as Kane County Coroner since 2012, received the Daily Herald’s endorsement in a race against Dr. Monica Silva, a Democrat.
Kane County circuit clerk: Read this analysis of a race featuring Democratic incumbent Theresa Barreiro against Republican challenger Anthony Catella. The Daily Herald endorsed Barreiro.

☑️ Potential new housing: Local officials are evaluating proposals for two major housing developments in St. Charles, including luxury townhomes downtown and multi-family units west of Randall.
☑️ Cold case cracked: The national media is covering the Tri-Cities after officials used modern DNA technology to identify a skull found in a Batavia home in 1978. (We’ll cover this further on Thursday).
🔒 Sewer improvements: Geneva officials approved plans to secure $35M in loans for water infrastructure projects, including a new sanitary sewer line under the Fox River and water main replacements.
☑️ STC taxes: A St. Charles committee recommended approval of a preliminary tax levy estimate of about $24M. Residents are unlikely to see their property taxes increase.
