Tri-Cities election results coming into focus
Voters in Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles and nearby communities weighed in on key local races Tuesday. Here’s a breakdown of the unofficial results from the Kane County Clerk’s Office.

Election Day has come and gone, and we’re already seeing the sea of campaign signs begin to recede from the lawns and intersections they once flooded.
According to unofficial results from the Kane County Clerk’s Office (last updated on Tuesday night), let’s see how locals voted below.
Note: Kane County Clerk Jack Cunningham said additional mail-in ballots will be counted in the coming days (which could affect tight races).
Batavia
Mayor: Incumbent Jeffery Schielke appeared to defeat challenger Tom Connelly, earning 53.32% of the vote (2,620 votes) to Connelly’s 46.68% (2,294 votes).
Alderperson, Ward 4
✅ Dustin Pieper – 61.98%
Douglas A. Eldrenkamp – 38.02%
Alderperson, Ward 5
✅ James Fahrenbach – 72.47%
Garran DeWain Sparks – 27.53%
Alderperson, Ward 6
✅ Matthew Anderson – 53.54%
Kate Cuneo – 46.46%
The other races, including alderperson seats in Wards 1, 2, 3, and 7, were uncontested.
Geneva
Mayor: In a tight race, Kevin Burns appeared to win re-election with 51.02% (2,945 votes), narrowly beating Karsten Pawlik who received 48.98% (2,827 votes).

Alderperson, Ward 3
✅ Larry Furnish – 56.50%
Lee W. Eysturlid – 30.75%
Kevin J. Ziegler – 12.75%
Alderperson, Ward 4
✅ Amy Mayer – 72.62%
Erin M. Di Silvestro – 27.38%
Alderperson, Ward 5
✅ Jeff Palmquist – 45.05%
Patrice Bertheau – 43.92%
Kim Edwards – 11.04%
The other Geneva city races, including alderperson positions in Wards 1 and 2, were uncontested.
St. Charles
Mayor: Clint Hull appeared to unseat incumbent Lora Vitek, receiving 58.87% (4,696 votes) to Vitek’s 41.13% (3,281 votes).

✅ Ronald Silkaitis – 55.73%
Robert Kasper – 44.27%
Alderperson, Ward 2
✅ Ryan S. Bongard – 64.88%
Angela Churchill – 35.12%
Alderperson, Ward 3
✅ Vicki Spellman – 36.98%
Paul D. Lencioni – 35.02%
Carolyn Waibel – 28.00%
Alderperson, Ward 5
✅ Steve Weber – 52.99%
Lauren Duddles – 47.01%
Ward 4 was uncontested.
Sugar Grove
In nearby Sugar Grove, voters appeared to elect Susan Stillwell as village president with 58% of the vote, replacing incumbent Jennifer Konen. Stillwell opposed a TIF agreement approved by the current board that had become a major talking point of the campaign.
